Military Sexual Trauma
The amount of our military members and veterans dealing with military sexual trauma is sickening. According to the DAV 1 in 4 women and 1 in 100 men in the VA healthcare system have survived military sexual trauma. That doesn't even account for those still serving such as US Army Specialist Tori Adams. We will discuss her story, how her chain of command reacted during the reporting process and handling rumors while still serving.

From an early age, Army veteran Paul Akins had to hold in a deep secret. Being abused by a priest was something he didn’t talk about till lately. That kind of trauma can be difficult to deal with. Paul somehow found the strength to start sharing his story in an effort to help others. Helping others eventually led Paul and his wife, to create Ohana Services. Ohana is Hawaiian for family, and the goal of their company is to help people on how to lower their monthly bills. Realizing that non-essential monthly expenses can get out of hand quickly, they decided to help other families lower these bills and regain some financial freedom!
Project Diehard
Brian Gibson is the CEO of Project Diehard which is a faith based organization with the mission of ending veteran suicide and assist veterans with coping skills to succeed in life. Their latest project Forward Operating Base Rush, is named in the honor of USAF SSgt. Courtney Rush who lost her battle with demons in 2012. As a retired U.S. Army mental health professional we discuss mental health and the difficulties of transition as well as his businesses such as Sgt. Nick knows the difficulties all veterans face not only with the transition but sometimes meeting the needs of the military members and their families. Nick's non-profit called Operation Phantom Support feed hundreds of military members, veterans, and their families every week in and around Fort Hood.
